PREVALENCE IN THE COMMUNITY
Panic attack, agoraphobia, specific phobia, OCD, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders in general all have a higher prevalence in the Australian Defense Force, than Australians in general.
In this graph we can see that that anxiety disorders in general have been statistically proven to be the most common out of all the disorders in the Australian general public and also the Australian Defense Force. This shows us that there are a lot of people in Australia get very stressed out easily, this could be because of work, family, or other issues.
I think members of the ADF should be entitled to adequate amount of sick days, so they can relax for a day if they think things are becoming too much.
The recovery of anxiety disorder can take quite a lot of time, so there should be lots of support for those going through these situations.
